Saudi Arabia Briefs the International Exhibitions Bureau on the Latest Developments of Expo 2030 Riyadh

Adel Al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and General Commissioner of Expo 2030 Riyadh, headed the Kingdom's delegation at the Executive Committee meeting of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) held in the French capital, Paris. During the meeting, the Saudi delegation presented the latest updates and achievements in the development of Expo 2030 Riyadh.

The Kingdom's delegation briefed the members of the BIE Executive Committee and the meeting participants on the most notable accomplishments and key milestones achieved to date, as well as the progress of on-site execution. This comes as the pace of delivery accelerates in terms of infrastructure, construction and building works, the master and detailed design plans, and communication and marketing activities.

Saudi Arabia is hosting Expo 2030, a global gathering where nations come together to exchange innovations, share knowledge, and collaborate in addressing global challenges. The exhibition site spans six million square metres and will feature hundreds of unique pavilions. It has been divided into themed districts to facilitate visitor movement across the expo's zones: Technology, Sustainability, and Prosperous Communities. Each country will have its own independent pavilion, allowing it to present its vision within a dedicated space. Furthermore, after the conclusion of the international exhibition, Saudi Arabia aspires to transform the site into a global village, housing thousands of residential units, cultural and entertainment events, and economic zones.

In response, the Saudi delegation highlighted the notable acceleration of construction work at Expo 2030 Riyadh, alongside confirmed participation from numerous countries – which "reflects the firm international confidence in the Kingdom and its ability to organise an exceptional and unprecedented edition of the international exhibition," as promised by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This also embodies the Kingdom's global weight and its standing as an influential power and key partner in shaping the future and building bridges of international communication and cooperation.

This regular meeting of the International Exhibitions Bureau takes place as the Expo 2030 Riyadh site is witnessing an accelerated pace of execution across all work streams. Construction work has begun on the site, concurrently with the continued establishment of the international exhibition's infrastructure and the sustainable legacy that will remain after 2030. Additionally, the main theme and sub-themes of the exhibition are being developed, reflecting the momentum the expo is gaining as a global platform and an inclusive international forum relied upon to find innovative solutions to the most prominent issues and challenges facing the world.
